my core2 Q9450 usually comes up with the wrong speed as measured
by netbsd too:
cpu0: Intel Core 2 Extreme (686-class), 42028.48 MHz, id 0x10677
the bios string is valid, though:
cpu0: "Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Quad CPU Q9450 @ 2.66GHz"
about every 4th or 5th boot it gets the right value.
