Could I ask if other packaging systems have any useful solutions to
having libjpeg and libjpeg-turbo both installed at the same time -
separate subdirs of .../lib/ or overrding library names for example?

It could be helpful for packages that *need* libjpeg-turbo to be able
to use a common, consistently updated (more likely to be patches for
security issues) copy of libjpeg-turbo, independent of whether other
packages are using libjpeg or not.

I know it would introduce the potential for breakage where two
dependencies of a package use different jpeg options, but see above
question regarding if anyone else has existing useful solutions :)
