A quick look at the sources shows that nia@ fixed this in December by
patching the offending file to worth with python 3.   Something useful
like that is worth 1000 messages on tech-pkg :-)

However, gtk2+ has now entered the realm of py27; the most recent
release is claimed to be the last.
