I think I remember seeing that before too, but that's with starting X11, not with the initial console video output. On the other hand, who knows? Maybe the PCI-E registers need to be set correctly for wscons to get the video right too? However the boot code only knows one "video mode" (according to "gop"), so, hmmmm.... -- Greg A.
