The only reason to install a 32-bit OS on an otherwise 64-bit capable hardware 
would be, if the system-ram is 2GB or less.
Otherwise, you'd waste resources and CPU-capabilities.
The 64-bit mode comes with a couple registers unavaible in 32-bit mode.
Most software compiles on 64-bit just as fine as on 32-bit.

Just my 2-cents...
