Do you have a .netrc entry for ftp.fi.NetBSD.org ?  You showed the
one you have for ftp.funet.fi but not the other.

You might know that ftp.fi.NetBSD.org == ftp.funet.fi but ftp certainly
doesn't know that, it isn't going to use the entry for ftp.funet.fi
when you connect to ftp.fi.NetBSD.org.
