Okay, I finally checked and neither did /media exist, nor was hal
able to start up. Please find hal's output below. ConsoleKit,
PolicyKit are installed, dbus is running; not sure what to try.
Running GNOME is difficult as well as there are binary packages
missing and at least GDM still has references to /usr/X11R6 in its
default configuration...
Just FYI... I don't really intend to run GNOME, but recently was
curios to try whether 5.0_BETA supports GNOME's hal-stuff.
