Re:Change MAC address in 4.0?

Hi,
I just recently had Verizon FIOS internet installed (20/5, not
bad!) and now I'm trying to get it to play nicely with my 4.0 home
server. When Verizon installs FIOS they give you an enormous brick
of a router, an Actiontec ML424WR. Rather than be forced to use
this I just want to continue to have my NetBSD box handle firewall
and NAT duties. FIOS (at least my install) is DHCP based so I'm
able to pull an IP address from Verizon by plugging the Cat5e from
the ONT into the WAN port on the Actiontec. I'm unable to do this
with my NetBSD box:
As suggested, I bridged a tap interface with my vr0 card -- and that
did the trick; I was at least able to get Verizon to acknowledge my
existence:
Feb 16 16:10:15 shuttle dhclient: DHCPOFFER from 96.242.86.1
Feb 16 16:10:20 shuttle dhclient: DHCPREQUEST on tap0 to
255.255.255.255 port 67
Feb 16 16:10:24 shuttle dhclient: DHCPREQUEST on tap0 to
255.255.255.255 port 67
Feb 16 16:10:34 shuttle dhclient: DHCPDISCOVER on tap0 to
255.255.255.255 port 67 interval 8
Feb 16 16:10:42 shuttle dhclient: DHCPDISCOVER on tap0 to
255.255.255.255 port 67 interval 10
Feb 16 16:10:52 shuttle dhclient: DHCPDISCOVER on tap0 to
255.255.255.255 port 67 interval 7
Feb 16 16:10:59 shuttle dhclient: DHCPDISCOVER on tap0 to
255.255.255.255 port 67 interval 6
Feb 16 16:11:05 shuttle dhclient: No DHCPOFFERS received.
Feb 16 16:11:05 shuttle dhclient: No working leases in persistent
database - sleeping.
Don't know why I couldn't pull an address though, maybe Verizon is
looking for more than the basic dhclient configuration I'm supplying...
In any case, thanks for the help.
Steve
