Re: weird ACPI error messages on Compaq laptop

A further update on my new laptop: I have tried a -current kernel
(fairly recent, of when I last happened to update, with custom config
file) with the 5.0.1 userland.

It fares much better. AGP is now detected, i915 DRM is now detected, the
NIC's MAC is detected. Audio at least gives sound via headphone plug,
but not via speakers (just like Xubuntu; I don't remember any sounds
from the speaker while I was refusing the MSWindows 7 EULA though).
dmesg.boot below.

The ACPI problem remains though, with AE_NOT_FOUND messages every 30
seconds.

I re-enabled the hardware cursor and acceleration in xorg.conf, and
this resulted unfortunately in some AGP error which prevented X from
working at all. This is what Xorg.0.log ends with:

Any ideas about that?
