weird ACPI error messages on Compaq laptop

I just got a new laptop, a "Hewlett-Packard Compaq Presario CQ71
Notebook PC (Rev 1)". I am installing NetBSD/amd64 5.0.1.

There are some funny things with it:

- Every 30 seconds or so there are some strange ACPI error messages:
ACPI Error (psargs-0464): [\_PR_.CPU0._PPC] Namespace lookup failure,
AE_NOT_FOUND
ACPI Error (psparse-0627): Method parse/execution failed [\CPUL] (Node
0xffff800007b26700), AE_NOT_FOUND
    ACPI Error (psparse-0627): Method parse/execution failed [\_TZ_.TZ01.OTHD]
(Node 0xffff800007b26960), AE_NOT_FOUND
    ACPI Error (psparse-0627): Method parse/execution failed [\_TZ_.TZ01._TMP]
(Node 0xffff800007b26a40), AE_NOT_FOUND
    acpitz0: failed to evaluate _TMP

- X (the one that comes with the base system) doesn't handle the
  graphics quite right.

  - The mouse cursor is not arrow-shaped but there is some block of
random bits somewhere. Probably a mis-configured sprite.
  - That block also doesn't move, which sounds like an incorrect mouse
device default, which I vaguely remember reading about.
  - and the most obvious: printed text is also splattered all over the
place, as random black bits. Probably some font acceleration going
    wrong.

The Xorg log file seems to suggest though that the chipset is
  supported:

(II) intel: Driver for Intel Integrated Graphics Chipsets: i810,
            i810-dc100, i810e, i815, i830M, 845G, 852GM/855GM, 865G, 915G,
            E7221 (i915), 915GM, 945G, 945GM, 945GME, 965G, G35, 965Q, 946GZ,
            965GM, 965GME/GLE, G33, Q35, Q33,
            Mobile Intel® GM45 Express Chipset,
Intel Integrated Graphics Device, G45/G43, Q45/Q43
    ...
(--) Chipset Mobile Intel® GM45 Express Chipset found

- The re0 is apparently some new revision. The MAC address isn't read
right and made all zeros. Despite that it works anyway. For now I put
a line in /etc/ifconfig.re0 to put in the MAC address as detected by
  Xubuntu.
    re0 at pci2 dev 0 function 0: RealTek 8100E/8101E/8102E/8102EL PCIe

    re0: Unknown revision (0x24c00000)
    re0: Ethernet address 00:00:00:00:00:00
    re0: using 256 tx descriptors

Xubunto appears to have none of these issues, so it should be possible
somehow to get around them :)

Below is the dmesg. The X log is rather long so I put it here:
