Have a look here:

it describes a linux set up but the syntax should be near the same for
NetBSD - they show how to set up a linux client with hybrid/xauth and
what you need to run to get connected.  I have not personally tested
this works but, modulo bugs, I cannot see why it would not.

or even some with a NetBSD gateway doing the same ;)
