Those non-MMU Linux systems impose lots of very drastic limitations like
vfork(2) not working. It is a castration. The amount of work needed to
make such a kernel work is huge. As there are lots of CPUs out there
with MMU, I consider this not worth the work. If you have a system with
very smal ressources that even has no MMU and only a few kB or MB of
RAM, a true real time OS is a better fit.
