The card in question surely works in an ordinary PeeCee
therefore it is capable of working at 5V.

yes, but if you'd read the part of my message where I support my
assertion, you'd realize my claim that *all* ordinary PeeCee PCI slots
are 5V only, not just ones ``of similar age'', and working in *any* 5V
slot is proof that the card works at 5V.
Whatever. This is obviously pointless. Don't let the facts mess with
what you want to believe.
The great thing is, we had this exact same discussion a couple years
ago, and you couldn't get it through your skull then either.
Because you couldn't support your claims back then either I guess.
Either way, if you could be arsed to support your claims in a halfway
coherent manner ( other than "that's not what it is because I say
so" ) we wouldn't have this - uhh - 'discussion'. I'm not even saying
you're wrong, just that what you claim doesn't follow from what we
know about this ( or rather, what we knew when this thing started ).
have fun
Michael
