BTW I notice option "rpi" in pkgsrc's ffmpeg5, which passes these
arguments to configure.

CONFIGURE_ARGS+=        --enable-omx-rpi
CONFIGURE_ARGS+=        --enable-mmal

Haven't yet tried, so not sure if they work on aarch64.
