Not a problem. We might call it USE_AUTOGEN or something to indicate
packager's choice to use it. If autogen of a package is bad, the packager
won't set this option. We can document this in pkgsrc guide.
This will at least help stop mushrooming of patterns of running autogen
(my mail showed 40 odd variants of it and I just added 41st based on what
I felt was right).
