Okay. I've not got an up to date 7.1 stable for i386 built but I do need one to update one of my laptops. I've kicked off the OS build and once that's done I'll do a test build of firefox using pkg_comp to see if the same thing crops up from a completely from scratch build.
I suppose here though that the "build" command doesn't affect the error.
I can reproduce the error by just going inside /usr/pkgsrc/www/firefox
and typing "make"

It certainly shouldn't. I'll let you know how i get on with my test build.
