IMHO we can split it on two parts:

1) partisans can handle their favorites on their own, and, in case of
   success, stage two can be focused on adequate comparison of survived
   tools,

2) there are might be another VCSes which are worth to test drive but
   we have no enthusiasts to do this.

I believe Adam's post is caring about the latter one.
