Okay, thanks for verifying.  I misinterpreted the 0xa9a6 above as a
chip ID within the "bwfm chipsets", i.e., as BRCM_CC_43430_CHIP_ID,
and not as SDMMC_PRODUCT_BROADCOM_BCM43430, that's why the ID above
and the listed firmware file seemed inconsistent to me.

It worked for a later boot (with no changes to the firmware files),
but it does not work every time.  Perhaps a timing related issue?

I didn't do any heavy testing and did not test X - but at least when
(mostly) idle I did not have any stability issues for the few minutes
that I tested it.  All this was with the 4GB model.
