SSDs are not build for high write counts contrary to spindles. Reducing the 
amount of write ops to the SSD (i.e. by larger RAM for filesystem caching, 
using a more fitting filesystem and filesystem parameters) is crucial to 
reach a longer lifetime. Doing a regular FSTRIM is important too to free 
unused blocks (NetBSD seems a bit intransparent to me in this regard).

Beside this there are SD Cards with "crippeled" or buggy wear leveling / 
electronic leading to corrupted cards when driven with more complex access / 
SCSI commands. Most are sold for "tyoical" applications like saving photo or 
video files in cameras or provide a mostly "read only" medium (i.e. jus hold 
some firmware) - means much less (random) write actions.

SDCards (as SSDs) which can take much higher amounts of write ops usually 
cost significantly more, because they have to bring with a lot of spare 
memory for wear leveling over lifetime.

So, it highlöy depends from:
 - usage (write access behaviuor)
 - SSD card "quality"
