And then where would we be, I ask you? mlterm failing only rarely
and not not all the time? :D No, I'm just kidding. I only sent that
workaround because I suspect that this is a spurious error only in
a pkgsrc env.--otherwise, lotsa programs would've been falling down
all over the place.

I agree. As to whether the patch _should_ be applied: that's an
executive decision, and the likes of me have no say in the matter.
