Sounds suspicious to me. Can you try some other usb mouse/keyboard and
unplug the ones you use now, just for testing? Not sure if that would
cause any changes, so just try if it is easy to do.

Worth a PR, I think (please include the Xorg.log and full dmesg).

thank you for your reply! It is more likely you are right, there is something wrong with my keyboard, since xdm started almost immediatly after I unplugged the keyboard(PS/2). I never would have guessed that a keyboard could cause such problem to XDM. Also I tried to connect a USB-keyboard to PC and it works well. Probably I need to change something in Xorg.conf in "InputDevices" section. I use default settings.
