I had good experiences with iXsystems at my previous job; we bought about 10 systems over a few years from them, and most ran NetBSD (at least at some point in their lives). They are definitely more FreeBSD-oriented, but they weren't completely clueless.I am once again in need of some NetBSD server hardware and am interested in experiences people have had with different companies. I am looking to purchase the hardware and am happy to configure the OS, etc., but I want to work with a company that will provide well-supported hardware components. I have been in contact with folks at iXsystems who have done some work with NetBSD but are mainly a FreeBSD house. Does anyone have experience with them or other sources of server hardware intended to run NetBSD? Recommendations welcome.
The only time I had a problem was when the newer Intel GigE chipsets came out - FreeBSD has good support, but NetBSD didn't (and I think still doesn't) - and they didn't catch that.
I also had good support experiences with them, but they're also within a few miles of the colo we use. (they're pretty small)
