I was thinking I could just put my nwid and nwkey in a
/etc/ifconfig.rum0
file. But what to do if I am using a different network? I don't want to
do manually and this is not my laptop and I want it to be easy for the
user.
The "Using WaveLAN IEEE under NetBSD" webpage lists some pkgsrc
packages,
but they appear to be for viewing stats and not for connecting to
different access points (automatically or manually).
I used to use net/autonet which worked well until wiconfig -D
stopped working reliably for me :(
Now I tend to just use the wpa_supplicant that ships with NetBSD-4
which works well for *known* networks, be they WPA, WEP or
unencrypted.
