Even without USB 3 support, wouldn't a USB keyboard work, assuming its connection is USB <= 2.0?
USB 3 should be backward compatible, and USB 2.0 or 1.1 would be just as fast as 3.0 with a keyboard since the limiting factor would be finger speed.
