OK, I dit it (I also enabled PCKBCDEBUG and PCKBPORTDEBUG while
at it).

The only change in the dmesg output is this one:

pckbc: aux echo test failed

(full dmesg attached).

Nothing happened when I touched the touchpad, which caused  the
keyboard to freeze.

Is there anything I can do to help?
