Yes, that's a good idea. On macppc, for example, some of the pthread mutex tests fail on GENERIC but NOT with DIAGNOSTIC.

In your list of options you obviously missed DEBUG.


Well, it wasn't clear to me that DEBUG would be helpful for tests. (Not because it isn't, because I wasn't sure)
