After several hours, interactive response is still fine, despite (like
before) lots of processes waiting around for others (although maybe a
slightly lower number of them).

System time seems also lower, but since it varies wildly, this is a bit
difficult to say for sure. It might also be an accounting artifact, for
all I know.

So from me a thumbs up for this patch!
