Not always :)  I actually saw some Michael MIC errors on ath last
night when I was doing a heavy data transfer (syncing up two laptops -
one with iwi and the other with ath).  I was able to resurrect the the
link by doing a wpa_cli authorize to force a WPA renegotiation.  The
wireless access point is a Zyxel ADSL router.
