Hi, Thomas!

That's because the Python developers broke backward-compatibility badly
going from Python 2 to 3.  That's partly why projects like Mercurial
still require Python 2.7 and do not yet support Python 3.x.  I say
"partly why" because it may not be a high priority for them if Python
2.7 continues to exist and be used.  I think it's fair to say "partly
why," though, because, for some projects, it can be a lot of work to
port from 2 to 3.
