Re: First go at adding GCC_VERSIONS_ACCEPTED support

It seems like the big questions on the table are:

  Is it ok to mix gcc versions for C code?

  Is it ok to mix gcc versions for C++ code? (It seems not, except in
  some special cases.) Assuming not, do we want to have a notion of the
  specified compiler for gcc for c++, and force its use for all c++
  programs, with the notion that changing that compiler requires a
  rebuild of all c++?

This could lead to separate variables for GCC_REQD (C) and GXX_REQD
(C++, and C++ having a in-list-then-build-else-fail.

Or it could lead to a "single compiler for a pkgsrc build" notion.
