Hello,

Just to see if there were any obvious post-4.0 problems lurking in - current, I test-booted the most recent autobuilt kernel from HEAD on my mini. It booted multiuser but stopped driving the display (a 15" LCD, Dell E152FPc) partway through hardware detection -- presumably right around the time video is configured. Here's the dmesg:

Here's the culprit:
radeonfb0 at pci0 dev 16 function 0: ATI Technologies Radeon 9200 5962
radeonfb0: port 0: physical 1024x768 60Hz
... there's a reason why radeonfb is disabled in all release branches.
Anyway, is that the right video mode for whatever display you're using? If not, please add a modeline for whatever the right mode is to dev/videomodes/
In any case, genfb should Just Work(tm).
If the mode's correct is there any chance to verify that radeonfb really programmed the timing it said it would? ( as in - could you hook up another monitor that works at 1024x768 at 60Hz? ) And finally, on some hardware radeonfb fails to program video modes and ends up with a black screen. It works on my hardware ( iBook G4 with Mobility Radeon 9200 and an Ultra 60 with an XVR-100 which is a radeon 7500 with Sun firmware. ) so I can't debug the problem ( not that I have hardware docs anyway ).

have fun
Michael
