Just FYI, support for this chip was pulled into the netbsd-5 branch just post 5.1 (it'll be in 5.2, if/when it happens). If you wanted to try something closer to a release, you could also try a snapshot of 5.1_STABLE, which has the change. Look at http://releng.netbsd.org/, the "Daily binary snapshots" for a recent one on the netbsd-5 branch.
