Dead keyboard in NetBSD v5.0 X environment



Dear list readers.

I have been trying to upgrade my NetBSD v3.0 to v5.0. Most of the
procedure is pretty straight forward, but when it comes to X I can not
get the keyboard to work, leaving the system more or less useless.

It seems that X is running OK: I can use the mouse, move the windows
around, resize them, call twm menu's etc. but the system simply does
not react to any keyboard inputs.

I have tried to create several different xorg.conf files, but no
matter what type of keyboard and options I select the behaviour is
always the same. 'X -probeonly' shows no errors but a few warnings not
related to the keyboard, 'startx' starts X, but all input from the
keyboard is ignored.

The following is a log file from an X session with the keyboard
defined as '104 keys international'. The InputDevice section in the
xorg.conf file looks like:
