Re: Porting NetBSD to Hardkernel ODROID HC2
Hello,
I recently bought an ODROID HC2 and figured this might be as good a time
as any to try NetBSD. Since it's based on the ODROID XU4 platform I
erroneously assumed the image for XU4 would work out of the box for the
HC2 as well. It installs but it doesn't seem to find my harddrive
(doesn't show up in dmesg). Since installing I have learned that the XU4
doesn't have any SATA ports. The SATA port on the HC2 is connected
through a USB to SATA bridge called JMicron JMS578.
I'm not really a tinkerer by any stretch of the imagination but I would
like to do what I can to contribute to a port for the HC2, although I
don't really know where to start. Since there is already a port for XU4
maybe the step isn't to far to the HC2? Any ideas on how I should
proceed?
If you can find the proper DTB file for the HC2 and compare it with the
one from the XU4, and if they're not that different, then you can likely
just add the entries for the USB that has the SATA. It's not exactly
trivial, but there are some guides and how-tos on the Internet.
If you post what you learn here, chances are good someone here will help,
too :)
John
