 Short answer, if you're fine with the legacy X11 cursor set here, go to
 about:config in Firefox, find "widget.gtk.legacy-cursors.enabled",
 change it to "true", restart the browser, and you should see the hand
 icon appear over links. (This works for me with firefox140, which is the
 firefox-esr version available in pkgsrc HEAD.)
