 You're right in that this PR is redundant due to being
 self-documenting via the comments. I had trouble deciding whether I
 should've submitted this PR or not, but ultimately decided to because
 I thought folks would still appreciate it being tracked in GNATS (and
 due my experience with larger or more-formal projects who insist
 *everything* should be tracked in one place, whether it's overkill or
 not).
 
 I'll try to be more careful with my PRs in the future.
