 That is definitely possible. (That or after the gcc change; has macppc
 been switched to gcc53 yet?)
 
 I have not had this problem on my -current machine, but it's amd64,
 and also I recompiled all my packages after the gcc change.
 
 I also wonder if maybe gobject-introspection is just allergic to -fPIE
 somehow and it doesn't blow up on amd64.
