Did netbsd ever support force remount readonly for root?

Did Netbsd, ever support force remount readonly for root?
(filesystems, naturally, and superuser, pedantically,
and also, as parameter to the command mount, naturally)

Pretty, much if I was ever in the situation, where I
would crave it, I take a few stabs at syntax, and give up.
My first experiences as root at that time, when I knew both that
there was such a thing, and, could successfully use it, would be
first be Solaris 1, and then Linux. So, if it's not that there,
that's fine; I'd just be as happy moving to other things
to consider before shutdown/reboot. Man page has never helped,
and I given up trying to make sense of it -- since Netbsd 5 --
to that detail as far as mount features, specific to a system
in crisis, was always ambivalent, on anyone's unix.

In fact also, on GNU-Linux, since it was the Linux How-to's, that were
so, darn, pleasantly, pedantically, helpful.

So, long story short, am I stupid on this?!?
