I can only detect the Epson Perfection 2480 scanner as root:

I have placed the firmware in /usr/pkg/share/sane/snapscan/esfw41.bin
And edited the /usr/pkg/etc/sane.d/snapscan.conf file to:
firmware /usr/pkg/share/sane/snapscan/esfw41.bin
Can someone help to access the scanner as normal user?
