It probably doesn't support any of the network interface. I would
try NetBSD/i386 5.1_RC1 instead:

If you want to know how to configure them read "man 5 ifconfig.if".
If the kernel doesn't find any network interface, see above.

I'm not aware of one, you will have use your faviourite text edit. But
you usually don't need to change much, please read "man 5 rc.conf"
to find out about the available settings.
