This won't be of much help, I am sure, but I am not a kernel debugger, yet. I 
will try to get something more descriptive with ddb, but meanwhile, I would 
appreciate if someone could provide some guidelines on how to do it.

This issue doesn't happen on a Linux 2.6, and this is not a Asus EEEPC, it's 
some Asus-based frankenstein.
