>Description:
When running a 'build.sh release', it appears that when descending into
compat/external/bsd/atf/lib/libatf-c* the build forgets about $OBJDIR.
It drops various files (.depend, *.d, *.po, and defs.h) into $SRCDIR.

I haven't tried this on a read-only $SRCDIR but I expect it would fail.
With a read/write $SRCDIR the build completes, so it is obviously
installing correctly into $DESTDIR.
