Submitter cannot test.
Let's assume it's fixed; among other things one of my heavily used machines
has an fxp and I've not seen this problem, which is as probably as good as
we're going to get as confirmation without the original h/w.
 
If anyone knows a reason to be more pessimistic, let me know and I'll
reopen the PR.
