Indeed, but is this _really_ a problem?

I don't think there's any excuse for anyone to be using POSIX based
software like NetBSD and pkgsrc on anything that can't honour POSIX
filesystem requirements.

For example it's now trivial to create a proper case-sensitive
filesystem on a Mac, and to do so without making the root filesystem
case-sensitive either (and the latter is still harder to do anyway).

Besides, if the original software has both a "Makefile" and a "makefile"
or some such in the same directory then the user can't use the package
on a system which doesn't support proper case-sensitive filenames
anyway, so they won't be using a package which patches both files in the
first place!
