So this means that I can compile the kernel under Linux and no quirk comes up.

Alright :)

Why would you even want dhcp for such a small network? Just assign it a static IP.

Well, yes, I could just assign it a static IP and go on with that, but why shouldn't I be able to set up a dhcp client ? I'm using dhcp on the Ubuntu machine and on another Mac Os machine, here.

You should be able to, I'm just unfamiliar with it so I can't even guess what's (not) going on. I only use DHCP to netboot Suns and Macs which doesn't need any userland configuration on the client side - the kernel knows it's netbooted, does the DHCP dance to find its root fs so when it enters userland the network interface is already configured.

Anyway, now I have to read something about the wskbd thing and then try to write the piece for the Italian keyboard, since I can test my work, now.

Thanks SO MUCH for your help, Michael, really.

You're welcome :)

have fun
Michael
