With just trying to compile glib2 by itself, meson fails in proxy-libintl with "No getxattr implementation found in C library or libxattr."

devel/glib2 (pkgsrc HEAD) builds fine for me on NetBSD 8 amd64.
You should be aware that while pkgsrc supports a vast number of platforms, many of those have fairly light usage and thus are more likely to have unfixed problems.
