I made that change in cogl, rebuilt it (in my pkg_comp environment) and
replaced cogl with the created package. I didn't update other packages.

That gives an interesting change: when starting geeqie, I now get this:

$ geeqie
failed to create drawable

(geeqie:17036): Clutter-CRITICAL **: Unable to initialize Clutter:
Unable to select the newly created GLX context
Can't initialize clutter-gtk.

I did a ktrace on geeqie, and I see that libGL.so.2 is at least opened
correctly at some point (after some tries in different directories), so that
doesn't seem to be the problem.

  9157      1 geeqie   CALL  open(0x7f7fffffcae0,0,0x58)
  9157      1 geeqie   NAMI  "/usr/X11R7/lib/libGL.so.2"
  9157      1 geeqie   RET   open 6
