I have not tested on Native X11 side yet, sorry, but how about the patch ?

This will separate xcb part from x11 as an options.
To disable xcb, you will need following line ( in /etc/mk.conf etc.)

PKG_OPTIONS.vlc=       x11 -x11xcb
