Sorry. What exactly should I check?
config.log files of libbonoboui packages doesn't contain checks for -ldb4.

The following .la files in ~/pkg/lib contain -ldb4

   libgnome-2.la
   bonobo/monikers/libmoniker_extra_2.la

Both comes from libgnome
