Re: Potential cgdconfig bug on NetBSD 11 usb installer...?

I tested the image and it works for me.

I followed chapter 14 of the guide and did:

# cgdconfig -g -V disklabel -o /etc/cgd/vnd1 aes-cbc 256
pkcs5_pbkdf2: calibrating iterations.................. done
# cgdconfig -V re-enter cgd0 /dev/vnd1
/dev/vnd1's passphrase:
re-enter device's passphrase:
#

where vnd1 was the disk device I used for testing.

If you have a cgd partition that shows up as a named wedge "cgdroot"
(you can double check by doing something like: dkctl wd0 listwedges
if wd0 is the device your CGD partition is on), then your command
should work if /targetroot/cgdroot is a proper paramsfile.

I tested that case too:

# cgdconfig -u cgd0
# cgdconfig -V re-enter cgd0 /dev/vnd1 /etc/cgd/vnd1
/dev/vnd1's passphrase:
re-enter device's passphrase:
#

and as you see it worked fine.

So maybe double-check your /targetroot/cgdroot file is correct?

Mine looks like:

# cat /etc/cgd/vnd1
algorithm aes-cbc;
iv-method encblkno1;
keylength 256;
verify_method disklabel;
keygen pkcs5_pbkdf2/sha1 {
        iterations 557933;
        salt AAAAgOj/YMV7hMDsdifby64iWUQ=;
};
#
